Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) is a molecular imaging technique, which provides access to a whole spectrum of unique biomarkers. In recent years, CEST proved to offer an interesting way to detect and characterize different lesions with altered metabolic properties such as tumors. Endogenous CEST methods, such as Amide Proton Transfer (APT), are making their way in clinics due to their signal detectability on 3 Tesla clinical MRI scanners and due to the absence of contrast agent administration.

“Challenges in clinical CEST MRI data processing”, with a focus on brain tumor characterization

In this talk, Stefano Casagranda will discuss the challenges and different pre- / post- processing methods for obtaining CEST maps reliable and useful for multiparametric MRI.

Discussion points of the webinar:

What are the pre-processing and post-processing steps aiming for optimal resolution?

What are the biomarkers of interest in CEST imaging that can assist brain tumor characterization?

How can we obtain them from a 3 Tesla clinical MRI scanner?
