Skope and its strategic partner Apodibot Medical are pleased to announce the continued growth of Skope’s presence in China and the wider Asia region with the appointment of Dr. He Zhu.

Since establishing their partnership in 2024, Skope and Apodibot have introduced cutting-edge products such as the Dynamic Field Camera and the NeuroCam to the Chinese market. The installation base has steadily expanded to include Tsinghua University, the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Fudan University. Dr. Zhu’s appointment represents the next step in supporting these users and building new collaborations.
Dr. Zhu received a B.S. degree in Physics from Peking University (1998) and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh (2007). His Ph.D. research focused on designing and optimizing spiral MRI for applications such as contrast-enhanced angiography and spectroscopic imaging. From 2007 to 2012, he conducted postdoctoral research at Johns Hopkins University, focusing on developing and translating molecular imaging methods such as MRSI and 3D-APT, initially at 3 Tesla and later at 7 Tesla.
In 2012, Dr. Zhu joined the faculty at the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science, where his research included correlated MRSI and fMRI at 7T and water-selective diffusion MRI of breast tissues. Upon returning to China in 2018, he worked at Shenzhen Bay Laboratory during the pandemic and later at the editorial office of National Science Review in Beijing.
At his new post, Dr. Zhu will focus on supporting Skope users with projects relating to field monitoring and trajectory measurements. In addition, the expanded team will engage with China’s rapidly growing high-field and ultra-high-field MRI community, contributing to the adoption of Skope technologies across 3T, 5T, 7T, and 10.5T.
